Sunny in January

The in between months of winter can be so dreary and sluggish and can be very confusing when it comes to fashion. This is the time when I forget about all fashion etiquette of the season and just wear whatever will put me in the best mood. School can be so stressful around this time, and so picking and styling outfits I feel confident and happy in can give me just the right amount of energy and poise I need to get through the day. I express who I am through what I wear, and sometimes I feel there needs to be a bit of sunshine in these long drawn out months of winter. That is while you'll see me wearing pastels with darks, bright and bold prints, and dresses galore. Dresses tend to remind me of sweet summer memories and fabulous adventures with my friends.

The outfits I choose to show you are a mixture of chic, casual, funky, and of course a little bit seventies. I love to play with different textures when I plan out my outfits, and that is why I fell in love with the suede maxi skirt you guys will see. These outfits are not the most winter proof (but hey it's Ohio!), but they will definitely add a bit of happiness to your day. Int the words of American Honey star Sasha Lane, "I know this sounds so hippie, but I like to create good vibes with my clothes - my own little energy."

P.S: This has been one of my favorite shoots of the season because I had my favorite and original photographer back with me: Avery Colvin!!
